July has been a great month for us here at Buzztime! Our partnership with Activision to promote the new Transformers: War for Cybertron video game has had us all geeking out and revisiting our favorite cartoons and comic books with a renewed sense of enthusiasm. Between the debates about the advantages of siding with Decepticons vs. the Autobots (c'mon - the Decepticons did have some AMAZING gadgets) and the musings about which of our co-workers may actually be super heroes in disguise, we've come up with some really great ways to share our obsession...er... appreciation of all things "comics" with you!
... mean while, back at the Hall of Justice, (aka) the Buzztime Headquarters... (I've always wanted to say that.) We're cooking up something special for all of the comic book fans out there: Three weeks of Trendalicious Trivia at 10p.m. PT/ 7p.m. PT that explores nothing but the World of Comics! Intrigued? I thought so! Here's the lineup:
As always, you can join me every Friday through the end of the month on Twitter and Facebook to partake in a little work-day trivia and compete for cool prizes and the glory of stomping your internet trivia competition! COMIC-CON COMES TO SAN DIEGO!! AND for those fans who are going to be descending on San Diego for Comic-con, have we got plans for you! Thanks to the gracious support of three of local Buzztime locations, you'll have the opportunity to play our World of Comics games in the heart of downtown San Diego. Whether you go to Jolt N Joes, The Local or The East Village Tavern and Bowl, we'll set you up with a $5 off coupon to enjoy some local fare while banging away on your Playmaker at some of the most challenging Comic Book trivia out there! Buzztime staff will be at all three locations on Friday and Saturday nights to meet you, hand out prizes and maybe help you out with an answer or two. We're also thrilled to have partnered with our favorite San Diego radio station --the incomparable Sophie 103.7-- to throw the local crowd a little party on Saturday night. (That would be July 24th, for those of you marking your calendars!) Jump in your bat mobile -- or board that invisible jet --and head on down to Jolt'n Joes in the Gaslamp District from 6pm to 8pm for the festivities. With the help of JT from Sophie, as well as Buzztime staff, we'll be testing how much you really know about all of those masked men and caped crusaders out there with tons of trivia, just for you. From 7-7:30 we invite you to take on the rest of the nation's comic book fansin a one-of-a-kind, real-time hosted version of Trendalicious Trivia. (Only at Jolt'n Joes!) Winners will not go home empty handed: prizes include an iPod shuffle, Buzztime prize packs and some generous and exciting swag proved by Mile High Comics (If you're going to Comic-con, visit them at booth # 5523).
