Buzztime Helps Jeopardy Contestant!

Wednesday, 10 August 2011 15:02

Most kids that love trivia growing up fantasize about being on Jeopardy. It's a truth, and Amy George wasn't any different. Trivia has always been a big part of the life of Amy George (Richmond, VA). Amy grew up participating in quiz/scholar's bowl in elementary through high school, and while she always had an interest in making an appearance on 'Jeopardy', she didn't seek it out until almost a year and a half ago, which was years after her last quiz bowl appearance.

People that really love trivia, will always find a way to keep it in their lives. Buzztime provides a perfect avenue for trivia lovers who want to continue to be entertained and use their acquired knowledge to compete against nationwide competition. So it shouldn't be a surprise that Amy decided to work at a restaurant that had Buzztime Trivia. It also shouldn't be a surprise that upon finding out that she was going to be a contestant on the show, Amy had a unique, but not surprising way, of getting ready for the show. She used Buzztime!blog-trivia-playmakers.jpg

When asked about her study habits leading up to the taping in an interview for a local Richmond paper Amy said, "I worked in a restaurant that had 'Buzztime' trivia. It was good practice, and my tables really tipped me well when I helped them out with a few good answers."

In the weeks leading up to her taping of Jeopardy (her episode aired on July 27th), Amy acknowledge that its hard to prepare or cram for the show. However, being in an environment where trivia was ubiquitous, along with having clear incentive (Bigger Tips) to participate in the trivia clearly was a great way for Amy to get ready for the big show!

Many Buzztime players feel like they would perform well on Jeopardy, and in this instance Buzztime was a direct resource that helped Amy George perform to the best of her ability (She ended up missing a rather difficult Final jeopardy question about 'British Royalty').

Congrats to Amy, a member of Buzztime Nation, for representing well.

Did you see her episode? How many of you have tried to get on Jeopardy? Think Buzztime has better questions?

Until next time...Good luck and good fun!
