BuzzSpeak Lesson #10

Tuesday, 13 December 2011 14:28

Welcome to the tenth installment in our series of blogs that will educate you on the common terms, language and phrases you will hear at your local Buzztime hot spot or even online on our Facebook and Twitter pages. This is part 10 of BuzzSpeak.

Playing The PianoIn part 1-9 of BuzzSpeak we went over some of the words you might hear at a Buzztime location: Lone Wolf, Precall, Buzzie, YO-YO, Two-Timer, slam handle, brain fart, Angel of Mercy and Vibrate to name a few. In this edition of Buzzspeak we will discuss some of words that relate to tactical Buzztime strategies.

Playing the Piano - Having to change your answer in Countdown style questions, after every clue.

Alt: Typing (verb)--the same as Piano Playing, but without the style. Sort of just banging on the Playmaker.

Separator - something we say when everyone gets the question right for 1,000 pts
.

Rel: Separation question - a difficult question in a game that plays a key role in determining the winner.

Abstain - To choose not to guess at an answer that could otherwise yield negative points if incorrect.

Alt: No-Call.

Machine Gunning - repeatedly and rapidly hitting a button to be sure it registers a score.

Enjoy using these new terms and phrases, and I hope that you know when to abstain and when to play the piano.

Until next lesson... Good luck and good fun!
